Laufás - Goðafoss, August 24, 2014

 

The tour starts with a drive along Eyjafjörður coastline where you can experience beautiful landscape. We drive to the old turf house Laufás which is located near the river Fnjóská. This turfhouse was built between 1860-1877 and last inhabited in 1936.The house is built in an traditional Icelandic style of stone and turf. The interior shown in the house are things that where found around the 19th century. From there we travel through Dalsmynni, valley with more beatiful Icelandic nature. Next stop is Goðafoss (the waterfall of the Gods). The breathtaking 30 foot waterfall is located in the river Skjálfandafljót and it is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland.
